From the crypt, Jay Muhlin founded Lemon Juice, a project-based creative art consulting group focusing on creative photographic and design creation. He combines his background in darkroom photography, editorial photography, post-production, education, cultural heritage and museum collection imaging and fine art to energize, facilitate, and guide projects from the grave and Beyond 🩸 

Before launching Lemon Juice Projects Jay completed artist residencies that include the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NY, The Millay Colony for the Arts in Austerlitz, NY, and the Contemporary Artists Center at Woodside in Troy, NY. He was a member of the artist-run gallery Vox Populi, where he created artist's books, multiples, and collaborative works. He has produced several solo exhibitions including  Kid and Sleeve on My Heart and Guilty Pleasures at Vox Populi Gallery and at Duplex Gallery in Portland, OR, and has been included in numerous group exhibitions. For environmental portraits to live music, he has photographed hundreds of assignments for The Village Voice, Time Out New York, New York Magazine, and LA Weekly. 

He was a photographer for the Philadelphia Museum of Art and documented the South Asian Art Collection and worked at the Science History Institute working with all areas of collection in museum and library .

His formal academic photographic training - BFA in Photography from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA in Transmedia/Photography from Syracuse University.
